AQUARIUAM AND TERRARIUM
Position Filled

The saltwater, freshwater and Poison Dart Frogs are one of the most popular sites on campus. Assistants are expected to maintain and care for the living displays, including daily feeding, cleaning, maintenance of the habitats, and routine checks of the systems.

Requirements

  • Work schedule - 15-20 hrs per week
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, summer break, and winter break
  • Must be local to TH or have a working car and willing to drive into campus
  • Prefered Major - Earth & Environmental Systems or other science related major

STUDENT RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Interested students should speak with the professor they would like to work with. You will assist assigned faculty member with research. Meet regularly with faculty member, complete assigned duties regarding research responsibilities independently. Provide regular updates on status of research assignments and progress towards goals of the research.

Requirements

  • Work schedule - 10 hrs per week
  • Prefered Major - Earth & Environmental Systems or other science related major
  • Depending on research, may need an appropriate course as a prerequisite.

STUDENT LAB ASSISTANT

Interested students should speak with the professor or lab they would like to work in. As a lab assistant, you would be responsible for lab tests, sample preperation, cleaning equipment and lab instruments, and lab research.

Requirements

  • Work schedule - 10 hrs per week
  • Prefered Major - Earth & Environmental Systems or other science related major
  • Each lab has its own dress requirement for safety protocals

STUDENT OFFICE ASSISTANT
Position Filled

General office responsibilities including, but not limited to, filing, answering phones, greeting visitors, deliveries, and record keeping .Answer and direct calls and visitors.

Requirements

  • Work schedule - 10 hrs per week
  • Open to all ISU students
  • Office hours 8:00 - 4:30 M-F

John C. Hook Observatory
Position Filled

The student is responsible for providing nightly astronomical viewing sessions on two evenings per week after sunset. The student must be familiar with constellations and astronomic objects visible during the fall, winter and spring seasons. You must be familiar with the use of reflecting telescopes, must be comfortable talking in front of groups.

Requirements

  • Work schedule - 10 hrs per week
  • Prefered Major(s) - Earth & Environmental Systems or Physics
  • Two evenings a week required
    • Current schedule Thursday and Saturday evenings

Student Social Media Assistant 
Position Filled

The Student Social Media Assistant will work with the department to promote our programs, events and majors. The social media assistant will be responsible for creating social content and monitoring trends on a daily basis. The student will work with office staff and faculty and be involved in planning events and managing social media presence.

  • Work schedule - 10 hrs per week
  • Open to all ISU students
