Jay Ellsmore is a professional trumpet player and teacher who resides in Indianapolis. Mr. Ellsmore, an Iowa native, earned a bachelor's degree in Trumpet Performance from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. He then went on to earn a Master of Music degree, also in performance from the University of Northern Colorado. After graduate school, Mr. Ellsmore became a prominent performer in Dallas, Texas, performing with the Las Colinas Symphony, Fortissimo Brass, and Lone Star Wind Orchestra under Eugene Migliaro Corporon. After moving to Indianapolis, Mr. Ellsmore quickly became a regular performer with groups such as the Lafayette Symphony, Danville Symphony in Illinois, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, and Terre Haute Symphony. Mr. Ellsmore also performs as the lead trumpet in the Starry Knights Big Band and the White River Brass Quintet in Indianapolis.
