Scholarship Name: Waldo F. Mitchell Scholarship

Description: Established in 1989 by Dr. Mitchell’s widow, Gladys R. Mitchell, who graduated from Indiana State Teachers College in 1914, and their children. Dr. Mitchell was a member of the faculty of Indiana State Teachers College from 1931 to 1952 where he chaired the Department of Social Studies and taught Economics. Scholarship awards are provided through generous contributions by donors to assist you financially in furthering your education.

Open To: Sophmores majoring or minoring in Economics.

Selection Criteria: Scholastic ability and academic potential.

Award Amount: $350.00 per semester

Scholarship Name: Richard and Margaret Gemmecke Memorial Scholarship in Economics

Description: Richard Gemmecke served ISU from 1947 until 1973 as a Professor of History, the first Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and as an Associate to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Open To: All economics majors with a junior-level status (60-93 hours). The scholarship will be awarded for the senior year.

Selection Criteria: Awarded to the outstanding junior on the basis of scholastic achievement and contributions to the programs of the Department of Economics.

Award Amount: $350.00 Fall semester
