Department of Philosophy Scholarships


Scholarship Name: Karl H. Wedemeyer Memorial Scholarship

Description: The scholarship was established in 1991 by Mrs. Waltraud H. Wedemeyer to honor the memory of her husband. Dr. Wedemeyer joined the Indiana State University faculty in 1971 and retired from the Department of Philosophy in 1985. He died in 1991.

Open To: Undergraduate Philosophy majors.

Selection Criteria: Overall GPA, years in the major, and years at ISU may be considered. A student must be enrolled in Philosophy classes during the semester for which the scholarship is designated in order to qualify for the award.

Award Amount: $1000.00 to $1630.00

Number of Awards Given Annually: 1

How to Apply: There is no formal application process. The ISU Department of Philosophy Scholarship Committee meets each spring to determine the scholarship recipient.
