The image is of myself as I am strangled by monstrous tentacles in darkness.  When I speak in public I usually feel like I'm choking and I've had nightmares where I choked even as I woke up.

I have had dreams where I've seen enormous creatures destroying the world.  I've asked friends if they'd had similar nightmares, then described what they had seen giving inspiration for the creature's look.

I wanted to make images that were nightmare-like or, in a way, inner demons.  I believe that sharing such images would allow the viewers to talk about relatable nightmares or thoughts.

Cody Devine will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a 2D Concentration.
