College Challenge

At Riverton Parke Junior/Senior High School


Riverton Parke Junior/Senior High School students may participate in College Challenge, an Indiana State University dual credit program that enables eligible high school students to earn ISU college credit in courses taught by high school teachers—at their local high schools.

Courses are arranged within each student's regular schedule, not outside of regular school hours. The student earns college credit (at a reduced rate) and high school credit simultaneously.

COURSES & FEES

The following dual credit College Challenge courses are offered at Riverton Parke:

To request a new course, ask the high school teacher teaching the desired course (or high school counselor) to contact the Director, College Challenge Program.

Eligibility

To be eligible, Riverton Parke students must:

  1. Have attained junior standing at their high school.
  2. Rank in the upper 50 percent of their high school class.
  3. Be recommended for the program by their high school counselor, teacher, or principal.
  4. Have the desire and ability to do the work.

HOW TO REGISTER

For assistance, contact the high school teacher offering the course (listed above) or your high school guidance counselor. They will provide all of the necessary information and assistance, including registration forms. Early contact is essential to ensure consideration.

Submit registration materials and payments to the high school teacher offering the course. Fees are payable by Visa, MasterCard and check or money order (made payable to Indiana State University).

Note:  Students who are eligible to receive free or reduced lunch are also eligible for a tuition fee waiver. The student's high school must provide documentation of the student's free/reduced lunch eligibility.

Scholarships

All students are eligible for a $400 College Challenge Success Award to attend Indiana State University (provided they earn a "C" or better in their College Challenge courses and meet other eligibility requirements).
