Notes:
  • Students may request a written examination in an attempt to test-out of the General Chemistry courses Chem 105,105L, 106, 106L.
  • The Department strongly encourages (but will not require) biochemistry majors to consider taking physical chemistry Chem 461, 461L, 462, 462L instead of the survey course Chem 465, 465L listed above. Students who elect to do so (and complete the full physical chemistry sequence) will have satisfied the physical chemistry requirement for the major and may additionally count six of the earned hours toward the required ten advanced elective hours. Contact your academic advisor.
  • The Department also encourages biochemistry majors to enroll in Math 132 (Calculus II) and to consider taking Phys 205, 205L, 206, 206L instead of the Phys 105, 105L, 106, 106L sequence listed above.
