ISU Live

"ISU Live" is a free signage software that packs live TV, RSS news feed, weather, and custom message and displays them on your TV. It is one of (Center for Instruction, Research and Technology (CIRT)'s inventions, running under the Linux system and built upon openGL.

Commercial software like RiseVision costs approximately $2,500 for a dedicated computer and an annual service fee of $800 per computer. With "ISU Live", all you need to invest is an off-the-shelf PC with PCI TV tuner capture card to run the program.

TV channels and news display are fully customizable through a web interface. For example, instead of showing the default newsfeeds, the department may choose to enter their own news and events and display them on the TV.

"ISU Live" is a joint effort of Multimedia Design Services and Technology Infrastructure Services.
