Adding Course Content with Images

Return to tutorial list

Decide where it is that you wish to add your content. For this example, we will add content with an image to Course Documents. Login to Blackboard and your course site. Click on Course Documents

We will do so by using Create Item. Click on the Create Item on top of the screen.

A new page appears. Type the name of the page. For this example we will call the content page “Mater Document”. Then cut and paste your content into the text box.

In section 2, Content Attachments, you can then create a link to an image that you wish to include. You will browse for the image which is preferably a .jpg or a .gif which has been optimized for the web. Click on Browse.

.

Select the image that you wish to upload. Click on Open.

Once you have selected it the path will appear beside your browse button. Then type the name of the image and choose “Create a link to this file” from the drop-down menu

Complete the options section: You can determine if you wish to permit users to view the Content Item or not. You may also wish to track the number of views. You can also choose the dates and times that you wish to display the content and the image. If you set up date restrictions, make sure to set up both start date and end date and you should select the date through calendar rather than enter it manually.

Click Submit.

Blackboard will then inform you that the Item has been successfully created.

You can now see your image link along with the text that you copied and pasted into the text block.

Clicking on the drop-down arrow to expand the options. You can make any changes by clicking on Edit.

You can click on the image link to view your image

You have now added an image as a link from your content.

Another way to add an image to your content is to use Front Page and make an .html document and add the image to the .html document. For additional information regarding this contact the Instructional Designer.
