A Learning Module is a set of content items with an accompanying structured path for progressing through the items. The path is set so that students must view content in sequentially. All types of content, such as items, assignment, and tests can be included in a Learning Module. Content within a learning module is added and managed just like content in a folder.
The first step in adding a Learning Module is to log on to Blackboard and select your course. Once you have entered the course, click on Course Documents button on the left hand side of the screen.

Once Course Documents has opened, click on the Build button to expand the menu and click the Create Learning Module link.

The Create Learning Module window opens and there are three steps to add a learning module. In step 1, you need to give the learning module a unique name. Secondly, you can add text to give a brief outline or description of the learning module.

In step 2, you can adjust the settings for the learning module. As for most items in Blackboard, you have to select the availability of the content. You can select "Permit Users to View the Content Item" and still set date restrictions so it only appears for a specified duration. Remember that if you set up date restrictions, make sure to set up both start date and end date and you should select the date through calendar rather than enter it manually.
The only unique setting for a learning module is enforcing sequential viewing of the learning module. If sequential viewing is enforced, students view the learning module in the order items within it are listed. Students cannot advance to a page within the unit without having viewed the previous page. if sequential viewing is not enforced, students will still be able to go through the Module in the order items are listed, but they will also be able to use a table of contents within the learning module to jump between pages in any order. This is especially helpful for reviewing content.

Once you have made all of your selections you simply need to click on the Submit button to create your learning module.

Now that the learning module has been created.

Then, you will need to add content. Content can include various file types. To add files to your learning module, click on the name of the learning module ( which is a link) to open it.

The newly created learning unit will be empty. To add content click on the Create Item button in the bar at the top of the page.

Enter a name for the item and a description.

Click on the Browse button to attach a file.

Select a file and click on the Open button.

You can give a name of the link or file format (e.g., Word file, PDF file or PowerPoint file).

This section allows you to adjust settings for this item. Check Yes if you want to permit users to view the content item. Note that if you set up date restrictions, make sure to set up both start date and end date and you should select the date through calendar rather than enter it manually.

Click on the Submit button.

The item has been created.

Using the same way, we can add more items.

Click on the Edit Mode in the right upper corner.

You will see the items we just created like this. Click on the arrow button to go to the second item.

Click on the Contents button, we can see the table of content. Because in this learning module we set to enforce sequential viewing as No, we can jump to any item by clicking on the title of the item.
