How to Add a Forum to Discussion

To add a forum to Discussion Board of your Blackboard course you will first need to access your course. Once you are in your course, click on the Discussion Board link on the left-hand side of the screen.

In the Discussion Board page, click on Create Forum button to add a discussion topic.

A new window, Forum Information, will open where you will be able to customize this particular discussion. In the first section, you will give the discussion a Title and short description or instructions.

The second section is Forum Availability: whether you want to make the forum available to students or set up date/time restrictions regarding when to make it available. If you set up date restrictions, make sure to set up both start date and end date and you should select the date through calendar rather than enter it manually.

You will also need to select Forum Settings.  For example:

Click on Submit and the discussion receipt will open.  To complete this action click on OK.

The new forum will appear in the discussion board.
