When you archive a course you are creating a copy of your course complete with all student records and interactions. This is a good way to create a complete record of your course for your records.
To create an course archive you need to log on to Blackboard, enter your course and click on Packages and Utilities under Control Panel in the lower left of the screen, and select Export/Archive Course.

In the Export/Archive Course screen, click on Archive button.

To create an archive, click on Submit button.

You will receive a massage that the action has been queued, an email will be sent when the process is complete.

Once the course has been archived you have a couple of options. The first is to download your archive. To keep record of your class you will need to download the archive. Click on the link to start the download process.

The File Download dialog box opens, click on the Save button.

In the Save As dialog box you need to select a file location. Once you have selected the location, click on the Save button.

When the download process is complete your can close the dialog box.

The second option in the Archive Course screen is to view the log file. Click on the gray down arrow next to the course tile, then click on View Detailed Log.

The log file will show you what was downloaded and the time it took to download each item.

Click Ok in the right lower corner to close the window.
