Instructors can customize these course properties that apply to all users in a course. Log on to Blackboard and select your course. Look at the right upper corner to make sure the Edit Mode is on.

Click Customization on the Control Panel. Then click Properties.

Type the name of the course. This name appears as the Course Name throughout the Blackboard. Type a description of the course.

Select the subject area that best describe the course by clicking on the down arrow. The subject area is further defined by discipline.

Select either Yes or No to make the course available to users. If the course is set to be available, all users participating in the course will have access. If the course is set to unavailable, access is determined by course role. Note: Courses that are unavailable will not appear in the course catalog.
If you want to make the course always available, select Continuous. If you want the course available for specific dates, check Select Dates and set Start Date and End Date. The course may also begin on a specific date and not have a specific end date. Selecting Days from the Date of Enrollment option will place a time limit on a self-paced Course. The course will be available for that number of days from the time a student enrolls.
In the Items to Select field, select a item and use the arrow buttons to move the item to the Selected Items field. More than one item may be selected. Use the arrow button to move items back to the Items to Select field. Repeat the process to add another item.
To set a locale for a course, select a language pack from the Language Pack drop-down list.
Click Enforce Language Pack to always display this Course in the selected language pack.
If a language pack is not chosen for a course, the course will display in the user's preferred language pack or, if the user has not set a preferred language pack, the system will display the default language pack.
Click Submit to finish the settings.
