Recycling a Course

Return to tutorial list

Before recycling your course please read this tutorial carefully and if you need any additional information, please contact one of the instructional design specialists.

Recycling a course (in the most basic terms) means erasing it.  For example, if you have been working on a course in a development site and you have successfully moved it to your regular course site, you can recycle the development site to clear it out for developing a new course.

To recycle a course log on to Blackboard, enter the course you want to recycle, in the Control Panel area click on Packages and Utilities, and then find Recycle and click on it.

To recycle parts or the total course, please click on the check box next to the item name.

The second section of the screen is focused more on student interaction and course set-up.  Click on any or all of the items you want to recycle.

There is one safeguard in place to avoid the accidental recycling of your course. You must type Delete exactly as you see it on the screen in the textbox.

Once Delete has been entered you can click on Submit to finish the recycling process. Once the course is recycled you will receive a confirmation screen as below.
