Login into your Blackboard course, then select the content area (e.g. Course Document, Course Information) where you want to create the Self and Peer Assessment. In this example, we will create a Self and Peer Assessment in the Course Document area.
On the Course Document page, click Evaluate button and select Create Self and Peer Assessment otpion.
If you cannot find Create Self and Peer Assessment link in this drop-down menu, it is because Self and Peer Assessment tool is not available yet. You should go to Control Panel, click on Customization, and click Tool Availability.
On the Tool Availability page, scroll down and find Self and Peer Assessment, then check these two checkboxes.
Click Submit button. Now you should be able to see Create Self and Peer Assessment link in Evaluate drop-down list.
Let's begin to create a Self and Peer Assessment. Click on Create Self and Peer Assessment link as shown on the first image.
The first section asks whether you want to create a new assessment or use an existing assessment. We select New in this example.
Enter a Name for the assessment, then Instructions for students.
Select the Submission Dates, which is when students can submit their work. Please set up both Start Date and End Date, and remember to select the date and time through calendar and clock.
Note that Evaluation Dates must be AFTER Submission Dates. Same with the submission Dates, you must set up both Start Date and End Date through calendar and clock.
Number of Submissions to Evaluate DOES NOT include self-evaluation. Type zero (0) if this assessment is only for self-evaluation.
Check Yes if you want to make the assessment visible to students. The date restrictions here ARE NOT tied to submission or evaluation dates selected above. Again, please set up both Display After and Display Until through calendar and clock.
Click Submit button to finish.
To add questions that students must answer, as well as evaluation criteria, click Create Question.
Enter the Question Text.
You may provide a Model Response for evaluators. You can make it available at any time, but it is viewable only after the submission period has ended.
Click Submit button.
You will receive a message that the question has been successfully added. Click the gray arrow button next to the question and select Criteria to add evaluation criteria.
Click on Create Criteria.
Type the Criteria.
Make the following settings.
Click Submit button.
