Go to http://blackboard.indstate.edu and login. Click on your course link.
Once inside your site, click on Course Documents which is located on the top left hand side of the screen.
Make sure Edit Mode is ON, then click the double down arrow on the Build button and locate the Create Syllabus option. Click on the link.
Clicking the Create Syllabus link directs you to the Add Syllabus screen where you enter the syllabus details.
On the Add Syllabus screen you can provide the Syllabus Name in step 1 and the type of file to be used (either Create New Syllabus or Use Existing File) as showed in step 2. This tutorial will show you how to create a new syllabus.
After providing the above details, click the Submit button at the right corner of the page.
The Submit button prompts you to the Syllabus Builder screen where you provide the syllabus information in the first step.
In Step 2 select the design and color settings for your syllabus layout.
Step 3 is used to build the Lesson Shells. They can be built based on the number of lessons that instructor wish to add to the syllabus. For example, we specified 2 Lesson shells to be created. This step is an option, if you do not want create any lesson shells just select the Do Not Create Lessons Shells radio button.
Scroll down to find the options. You can choose to make the syllabus content available or not available and track the number of views by clicking on the radio buttons: Yes or No.
You can also set the date and time restrictions by clicking on the check box next to Display After and Display Until and set the dates and times up. If you set up date restrictions, make sure to set up both start date and end date and you should select the date through calendar rather than enter it manually.
Now that you have completed this part of the task, click Submit.
You will receive a message indicating that the folder was successfully added.
And the page looks like this. The page contains the syllabus information, you can click Add Lesson button or Delete lesson button to add/delete the lesson shells.
You can add information to your lesson shells by clicking the down arrow button just beside the lesson shell name and then click on Edit.
Clicking on the Edit link directs you to the page where the details for the lesson shell can be added. You can provide the Lesson Title, Display Date and Time and Lesson Description as follows.

And then click Submit.
A success message is displayed. And the lesson is added.
Click OK button.
Your syllabus has been added under the Course Documents. On clicking the down arrow button besides the Syllabus helps you modify the syllabus information if you wish to do so.
The editing options can be accessed by clicking the down arrow next to Syllabus and the required link.
