Adding an Item to your Gradebook

To work on the gradebook for a course, log on to Blackboard and open your course.  Once the course is opened, click on Evaluation under Control Panel, then click on Grade Center.

To add an item click on the Create Column button.

Each item in your Grade Center requires a unique name.  Once you have given an item a name you can also give it a display name, add a short description, select how the grade will be displayed, and select a grade category.  Categories can be used to sort grades or assign a weight to grades within a category.  To learn how to edit your categories, please return to the Blackboard Tutorials and select How to Manage Settings. You also need to assign points.

Set a Due Date.

In Options you can select if you want this grade to be included in calculating grades and control the visibility of the grade to students.

One you have made all of your selections, click on the Submit button.

Blackboard will provide a prompt confirming that your item has been added.
