Creating a Basic Quiz

To create a basic quiz, log on to Blackboard, select the course you want to work with, and in Course Management area, click on Course Tools to expand the manual.

Click on the Tests, Surveys, and Pools.

Click on Tests.

Then click on Build Test icon at the top of the screen to create a new test.

When creating a quiz in Blackboard you first need to give it a unique name.  This will help identify the quiz both in delivering the quiz and in the Gradebook.  It is also helpful for students if you include a short description and concise instructions for the quiz.

In this first step you are basically creating a holder for questions.  Later you will need to create questions, all of which are covered in separate tutorials.

After you have filled in the desired information click on Submit to create the quiz.

Now that you have created a quiz, you will need to add questions.  To see how questions are created, please return to the tutorials and select the needed tutorials.
