Information Technology Innovations Mini-Grant Program

CIRT sponsors an internal mini-grant program to encourage faculty to explore new and innovative uses of technology. Applications are reviewed semi-annually. Projects that provide preliminary results for further pursuit of external grant opportunities are especially encouraged.

Application Guidelines

Category Definitions - Identify the category which best identifies your area of application.

Preference will be given to interdisciplinary programs under community engagement, experimental learning, and technology based.

Assessment of Program is research that evaluates the effectiveness of pedagogy and praxis of an area.

*Preference given to assessment of program. Maximum award $3000.00

Teaching/research/Community Engagement is a project that immerses students in practical or service related research. Maximum award of $2500.00

Experiential Learning is learning through reflection on doing, focuses on the learning process of students. Maximum award $1500.00

Assessment of classroom is research that evaluates the outcomes of a particular section of a program area. Maximum award $1500.00

Technology Based Research is infused with emerging technologies or relies on technology heavily to complete the project while providing research opportunities that are innovative. *One award of $2500.00

Travel is awarded to faculty attending conferences, making presentations, or otherwise participating, subject to matching funds. Maximum award up to $750/requires a 100% match.

Equipment Purchase Guide

All computer and electronic equipment purchased through IT Innovations Mini-grants must meet ISU recommended hardware minimum configuration. Assistance in pricing hardware and software is available from Joy Bensiger in CIRT.
