ThinkPad Maintenance: Disk Cleanup Tool

The Disk Cleanup Tool is an easy way to clean up your Recycle Bin, Temporary Internet Files, and other temporary files on your hard drive at one time.

To run Disk Cleanup:

  1. Click on Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup.

  1. The first time you run this program, it may take some time to scan your system. Do not be surprised if this takes an hour or even longer. It is recommended to connect to a power supply before starting Disk Cleanup.

  1. When it is finished, select the files you would like to delete (normally you will want to delete them all) and click OK. The files will be deleted from your ThinkPad.
