ThinkPad Warranty Information

Your ThinkPad is protected under a three-year depot limited warranty (parts and labor) with a one-year battery warranty plus a three-year ThinkPad protection warranty. ThinkPads should be serviced on campus at the Computer Support Center. There is no need to contact IBM/Lenovo directly. If the Computer Support Center needs to send your ThinkPad back to IBM/Lenovo, they will do so.

Computer Support Center

The Computer Support Center is located in the Student Computing Complex, room 127 and can be reached at 237-8800. The Center is authorized to repair Lenovo laptops and Lenovo laptops will receive priority support. The Computer Support Center provides two services on campus:

Services for Lenovo Laptops

A no-charge carry-in service is offered for hardware and software repair of the Lenovo laptops purchased through the Indiana State University agreement or awarded through the Laptop Scholarship Program.

To receive hardware or standard software service on a Lenovo laptop, please bring the following items:

  1. Lenovo Laptop
  2. University ID

Services for Non-Lenovo Laptops

A fee-based carry-in service is offered for other laptops for software support only. No hardware support service is offered on non-Lenovo equipment. For rates on software repair of non-Lenovo laptops, business hours, and more, go to the Computer Support Center or call 237-8800.

To receive software-only support service on all other computers, bring the following items with you:

  1. Computer
  2. Power Cord
  3. Original software media and software keys (CDs or floppies)
  4. University ID

OIT Help Desk

The Help Desk offers walk-in, phone, and e-mail support for hardware and software installation, hardware and software problems, network access, and other ISU computer-related problems.
