Guidelines
- Faculty must provide the original content and samples of artwork to create. Digital
format is preferred (thumb drive, e-mail, cd), meaning any text necessary needs to be
submitted in a digital format such as a Word or editable PDF document. A sketch of the
desired look and layout is helpful.
- Submit clear information for labels, legends, or captions.
- If working with a publisher, gather all necessary information, such as:
- - Preferred file type (eps., pdf., .ai, tiff), size, resolution
- - Is the publication going to be printed one color (black only) or full color?
- - Provide publisher contact information if necessary
- The faculty is the content expert and is responsible for proof
reading and reviewing the illustration before being sent to the publisher.
- If the faculty is to receive any monetary retribution from the
published article, a charge for materials and labor will be assessed.
