An integral part of Center for Instruction, Research & Technology’s faculty support services
and facilities, FLODA stands for Faculty Learning Object Development Area. FLODA is an all-digital
video recording facility housed in Normal Hall where faculty can record short instructional videos.
Trained, professional staff are present for every video shoot to assist faculty in obtaining the
best quality video results.
FLODA is equipped with 4 Sony 1080i (1440x1080) video cameras with Robotic Pan/Tilt/Zoom control.
These cameras are controlled through a Sony Anycast HD Video/Audio Mixer which is capable of
producing professional quality video. A Reflectmedia 14'x10' greenscreen (chromakey) system allows
professional video production effects, for example, image compositing. A Teleprompter system which
includes a 42" Sony HD 720p LCD TV and 3 17" Teleprompt Monitors with Windows computer provides
cueing and scripting functionality.
Other FLODA equipment includes wireless Lavalier microphones, an individually dimmable and directional
lighting system, a quad-core Windows computer for advanced content display, VHS and DVD playback
devices, DVD and DV recording and, video on demand recording (direct to computer).
