Faculty Learning Object Development Area (FLODA)

An integral part of Center for Instruction, Research & Technology’s faculty support services and facilities, FLODA stands for Faculty Learning Object Development Area. FLODA is an all-digital video recording facility housed in Normal Hall where faculty can record short instructional videos. Trained, professional staff are present for every video shoot to assist faculty in obtaining the best quality video results.

FLODA is equipped with 4 Sony 1080i (1440x1080) video cameras with Robotic Pan/Tilt/Zoom control. These cameras are controlled through a Sony Anycast HD Video/Audio Mixer which is capable of producing professional quality video. A Reflectmedia 14'x10' greenscreen (chromakey) system allows professional video production effects, for example, image compositing. A Teleprompter system which includes a 42" Sony HD 720p LCD TV and 3 17" Teleprompt Monitors with Windows computer provides cueing and scripting functionality.

Other FLODA equipment includes wireless Lavalier microphones, an individually dimmable and directional lighting system, a quad-core Windows computer for advanced content display, VHS and DVD playback devices, DVD and DV recording and, video on demand recording (direct to computer).
