A walk-in or same-day consultation service is available
Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m.
to 4:00 p.m. for students who feel they are in crisis and
require immediate care. It is helpful to you and to us if you
call ahead at 812-237-3939 to arrange a consult time, however
you may just come in and you will be seen as promptly as
possible. The SCC is located in the lower level of the Student
Service Building with a separate entrance facing HMSU.
For assistance with emergencies (where a student is out of
control, disoriented, or potentially feeling harmful to
themselves or others), and when the SCC is closed, contact the
ISU Public Safety office at 237-5555 and they will transport the
student to a local emergency center. Students seeking emergency
services when the SCC is closed are directed to go to either
Union or Regional Hospital's emergency rooms or to the Katherine
Hamilton Psychiatric Center (next door to Union Hospital).
