Office of Educational Outreach provides assistance to members of the faculty and staff of the Bayh College of Education and to personnel in schools and related agencies in the Terre Haute metropolitan area and serves as a clearinghouse and catalyst for interdepartmental, intercollege, interinstitutional, and interorganizational collaborations.
Office of Educational Research and Evaluation (OERE) provides assistance to members of the faculty and staff of the Bayh College of Education and to personnel in schools and related agencies in the Terre Haute metropolitan area in the design, conduct, analysis, and dissemination of research and evaluation projects completed in educational and related settings.
Professional Development Schools (PDS) is a collaborative effort between the University and five area school districts. It is currently made up of 20 public schools and Indiana State University. Through this partnership students, teachers, and administrators of the schools and the University have come together to enhance education and training at all levels for over 10 years.
Blumberg Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Special Education was established to encourage the interdisciplinary study of populations with special needs, ranging from persons with severe disabilities to those who are gifted and talented. Over the years, it has obtained Federal and State grants focused on developing and improving services for these individuals. The Blumberg Center includes faculty, students, and staff from the Department of Communication Disorders; the Department of Elementary, Early and Special Education; and the Department of Educational and School Psychology at Indiana State University.
Indiana Special Education Administrators' Services (ISEAS) is a statewide dissemination and technical assistance project. ISEAS was conceived in 1978-79 in response to a long-recognized need for increased support to Indiana's special education administrators and implemented in January 1979.
North Central Association (NCA) is the oldest and largest of the six regional accrediting associations that monitor US schools internationally. As a nationally recognized organization, NCA CASI’s purposes are to accredit schools and to support schools in their efforts for school improvement. It is a not-for-profit, voluntary membership organization of approximately 9,100 schools in a 19-state region plus the Department of Defense Dependent Schools and schools in the Navajo Nation. NCA CASI is recognized by the United States Department of Education as a regional accrediting association.
Project PRE (Partnering to Reform Education) gives the university and schools in the ISU Professional Development Schools Partnership the resources to transform the teacher education programs to more clinically-based programs, getting education students more involved in the learning experience while furthering the professional development of the teachers already in the field.
Center for Mathematics Education - The Center for Mathematics Education is designed to enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics of all children, youth, and adults. To accomplish this purpose the Center for Mathematics Education will engage in three simultaneous and interrelated activities. First, the center will directly impact the teacher development continuum from pre-service to beginning teacher induction and socialization into teaching and on through continued professional development. Second, the Center for Mathematics Education will promote and sustain an agenda of research designed to enhance the knowledge base of teaching and learning in mathematics education and to address problems of practice in teaching mathematics. Third, the Center for Mathematics Education will, through its activities, promote and enhance the learning of mathematics by all children and youth from preschool through graduate school by engaging in a coordinated outreach program touching schools and school districts throughout Indiana.
