Many students at Indiana State University receive financial aid, scholarships, or both. Did you know that last year, ISU awarded more than $4 million in merit scholarships to more than 2,500 students and 70% of our students received some form of financial aid?

Financial aid and scholarships are different. Financial aid includes loans, grants, work-study programs, and veterans’ benefits and eligibility is based on the demonstrated financial need of both students and their parents.

Scholarships are given in recognition of academic achievement and accomplishments, and they are not awarded based on a student’s need for financial support. ISU has a competitive scholarship program for its top awards including the President’s Scholarships, University Honors Program Scholarships, Dean’s Scholarships, as well as Center for Leadership Development Awards and Creative and Performing Arts Awards. Other distinctive scholarships include the Rural Health, Gongaware, and Networks scholarships. Other selective scholarships are available and ISU also offers scholarships specifically for transfer students.
