The teenagers of these times face problems that you and I can't imagine. This web site has tremendous capability to reach numerous teenagers who may be facing a variety of issues that we hope are addressed in this project.
Every teenager in the middle and high schools have been given the URL to reach this page; however, the URL is extremely long and awkward. My fear is that the address to reach the page will be lost quickly, with no recourse to find it again when they need it. I have researched domain names and I found that "TeenTerreHaute.com" was available for registration - a name simple and easy to remember, not to mention easy to promote.
The web site itself is stored on the server of Indiana
State University, one more example of the dedication the university has
to the community in which it resides. Thanks to CHANCES for youth's
sponsorship of the first year's fees, I registered the site as teenterrehaute.com,
which utilizes a router to point from that URL to the actual URL at which
the site resides (http://web.indstate.edu/community/TeenTH/homey.html).
This system works admirably and enables us to provide
an easily-recognizable, as well as memorable, address for the page.
Local news media and radio stations will find this a lot easier to promote
as well.
George Bowles, a local internet provider, has registered the domain name, set up the router, and will maintain the same for a nominal fee. I am looking for a sponsor to provide a five-year commitment to this site, through a one-time payment of $750.00, renewable at the conclusion of the five years. As you can see by the front page (from where you came), I will place your company's name on one side of the page, and your logo on the other, as well as enable a link to your own web site, should you have one. An excess funds received will be utilitzed to contract for the development of a public service announcement about the site, and any additional funds will be set aside for Youth Leadership Terre Haute programs.
Please contact me as soon as possible to discuss your company's involvement with this valuable project.
Sincerely,
Debbie Nelson
