Financial Aid

INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

PLEASE NOTE

Students must apply for financial aid each year. Financial aid is not automatically renewed.

Approximately 74% of all ISU students receive some form of financial aid. Aid comes in many forms, including state and federal financial aid, loans, and scholarships.

Students are eligible for consideration for financial aid programs if they are seeking ISU degrees and are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens.

To apply for aid, follow the instructions below.

  Step 1:  Apply for Aid

Students can, and should, apply for aid prior to (or simultaneous with) applying for admission to the University. For instructions, and an online application, go to www.fafsa.gov

The federal school code for Indiana State University is 001807.

Note: Students may attend ISU and another institution simultaneously -- and receive aid to cover both schools. A Consortium Agreement is required. For details, see taking classes elsewhere.


  Step 2:  Check Financial Aid Status

Once admitted to ISU, students can check their financial aid status by logging on to the MyISU Portal.


  Receiving Aid

Once aid is approved, students cannot receive aid until they are admitted to the University and registered for courses. To continue to receive aid, students must meet specific requirements. See satisfactory academic progress.

Distance Education Students Residing Outside of Indiana:  Each of the states has its own approval processes for out-of-state institutions offering distance education. While Indiana State University endeavors to offer all of its programs to as wide an audience as possible, all ISU distance education programs may not be available in all states.

The Catalog of Indiana State University is the document of authority for all students. The requirements given in the catalog supersede information issued by any academic department, program, college, or school. The University reserves the right to change the requirements at any time.
