BACHELOR DEGREE-COMPLETION PROGRAM

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The Insurance and Risk Management Program is open to eligible in-state and many out-of-state applicants. The program is designed for transfer students. Specific freshman and sophomore courses must have been completed.

Admission—Minimum Requirements

To be admitted to the distance learning program in insurance and risk management, the applicant must be admitted to the University as a degree-seeking student and satisfy the following:

  1. An associate of science (A.S.) in business administration from Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University, or another regionally accredited college or university, with a grade point average of 2.25 or higher;

    Or a minimum of 60 credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university with a grade point average of 2.25 or higher.


  2. Courses in:  English (freshman composition); Communications (speaking); Mathematics (intermediate algebra, college algebra, or calculus); a legal environment of business course


  3. Eighteen (18) credit hours of specified prebusiness cornerstone and foundation courses with a grade point average of 2.25 or higher, including:
      -  Information Technology Literacy (3 credits)
      -  Principles of Macroeconomics (3 credits)
      -  Principles of Microeconomics (3 credits)
      -  Principles of Accounting I (3 credits)
      -  Principles of Accounting II (3 credits)
      -  Business Statistics I (3 credits)

Distance Education Students Residing Outside of Indiana:  Each of the states has its own approval processes for out-of-state institutions offering distance education. While Indiana State University endeavors to offer all of its programs to as wide an audience as possible, all ISU distance education programs may not be available in all states.
