Delivery:
Internet
On-Campus Requirements:
None
Access:
In-state, out-of-state, and international students can access all aviation
courses in this program.
This 62-hour program provides an academically-oriented progression of instruction that trains the student in aviation fundamentals (primary training), instrument training, and commercial pilot certification.
The program is integrated with two years of General Education studies that may be taken on-campus or through distance learning courses offered by Indiana State University and the Indiana College Network. All aviation and approved general education credits earned in this two-year degree program may be applied toward completion of the bachelor's degree in professional flight technology.
This program can be completed in three to four semesters (full time). Students also have the option of part-time study.
Flight Training
The required flight training for the pilot certificates may be obtained at any
established flight training facility that has FAA Part 141 authorization or
meets the same standards as Part 141. ISU does not conduct any of the required
flight training, nor is it affiliated in any way with any flight training
facility that offers such. Consideration will be given to allow college credit
to students who have already obtained flight certificates or aviation flight
experience. Questions should be directed to the
Department of Aviation Technology.
