ELED 532 Early Childhood: Teaching within a Diverse Society -- 3 credit hours

The course is intended to provide pre-service teachers (teacher candidates) with the knowledge and skills to work with children and families from different racial, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. This course introduces the conceptual frameworks of multicultural teaching. The course also provides a review of research and practices relevant to the psychological, intellectual, physical and social needs of young children from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Delivery: Internet (Web)

Scheduling: This is a three-hour, semester-based course offered during the summer.



Prior to enrolling, individuals should contact Education Student Services if they have questions regarding course applicability for their particular career goals. Pre-approval by Education Student Services is required before enrolling in any course intended to be used for Indiana license renewal.
