In some cases, undergraduate students may be advised to complete selected distance courses
offered by other institutions through the Indiana College Network.
Listed below are deadlines, important guidelines, and a link to the on-line ICN registration request form.
Deadlines
Deadlines for registration are two to three weeks prior to the beginning of a new
semester. For exact dates, please contact isu-icn@indstate.edu or call (812) 237-2121.
Important Guidelines
- Advising: Students should always consult with their ISU academic advisor before registering for
any ICN course. Following the approval of an ISU academic advisor, students should contact the
Office of Distance Support Services to begin the registration process. Students should not attempt to
register themselves via the ICN Web page.
- Books/Materials: All books and materials must be purchased through the partner school, not Indiana
State University. Students will receive more information from the partner school on their course names
and section numbers. Please keep in mind these are not always the same as ISU. Read all emails pertaining
to the course(s). Students will need this information to search for the courses at the partner
school's online bookstore.
- Drop/Withdrawal: Students are expected to follow ISU drops dates and are subject to the same drop
fees as a regular ISU course. For drop dates, visit
important term dates. Please note that ALL drop requests must be in writing to isu-icn@indstate.edu
- Financial Aid: Spring semester ICN courses may affect financial aid student academic progress (SAP).
We recommend that students consult with the University's Office of Student Financial Aid at
ISU-finaid@mail.indstate.edu or 1-800-841-4744.
- Grading: Partner schools do not follow the same semester schedule as ISU; therefore, ISU will
issue an incomplete grade until grades are received from the partner school. When a student chooses
to enroll in a course via ICN, the following will be affected: grades; Dean's List standing; academic
standing; graduation date; and scholarships.
- Registration Process: It can take up to two weeks for the student's registration to appear in
his/her class schedule in the MyISU Portal. The ISU ICN coordinator is listed on the Portal as the
instructor; however, the actual instructor for the course is at the partner school. The instructor will
send the student further information via his/her ISU email account.
Register Now
Students must check with their advisors for a list of approved courses, and then obtain their advisors' approval prior to registering for any
courses. Once students have their advisors' approval, they MUST complete this form
to begin the registration process for selected ICN courses.
Important: By filling out the form, the student is agreeing to the terms and conditions listed above.
Distance Education Students Residing Outside of Indiana: Each of the states has its own approval processes for out-of-state institutions offering distance education. While Indiana State University endeavors to offer all of its programs to as wide an audience as possible, all ISU distance education programs may not be available in all states.
