The University offers two graduate certificate programs via distance learning:
Both certificate programs are delivered online by faculty of Indiana State University's program in public administration. Students are awarded a certificate after completing four courses (12 credits). Students can complete the public administration certificate in two semesters, or in one semester and a summer.
Credit earned in either certificate program may be applied toward the master of public administration (M.P.A.).
Application Deadline
For M.P.A. and all certificate applicants, the Public Administration Program will now accept applications for student enrollment throughout the year. There are no application deadlines. Our admissions committee meets monthly, at the end of each month, to review completed applications completed over the previous 30 days. Applicants should receive an admission decision from us within a month of the completion of their applications.
Accreditation
Indiana State University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Public Administration Program was established as a semi-autonomous unit within ISU's Department of Political Science in 1976. The program is currently a member of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA). It is also associated with ASPA, the American Society for Public Administration.
Distance Education Students Residing Outside of Indiana: Each of the states has its own approval processes for out-of-state institutions offering distance education. While Indiana State University endeavors to offer all of its programs to as wide an audience as possible, all ISU distance education programs may not be available in all states.
The Catalog of Indiana State University is the document of authority for all students. The requirements given in the catalog supersede information issued by any academic department, program, college, or school. The University reserves the right to change the requirements at any time.
