Goals


Goal One:

Enhance the visibility of diversity on the ISU campus

New Action steps:

  1. Initiate a voluntary inter-group dialogue process for students, starting in fall 2010 with pilot program with Residential Life; expand campus-wide in spring 2011

  2. Create an informational campaign and produce and disseminate a poster (similar to the ISU Mission, Vision, Values) on the importance of diversity to the campus

On Going Action Steps:

  1. Continue to maintain robust and informative Office of Diversity and Council on Diversity web sites

  2. Increase visibility of campus-wide diversity calendar of events

  3. Continue support for student-initiated diversity events with funding, advice, and participation

  4. Continue to disseminate research on diversity, equity, and inclusion to campus constituencies

 

Goal Two:

Support access and success for groups historically underrepresented in higher education in the student body, staff, faculty, and administration

New Action Steps:

  1. Work with various units of the University (Provost’s office,  Human Resources, Office of Affirmative Action) as well as departments and colleges to implement training and policy revision recommendations from Search Process study

  2. Begin planning for a summer diversity curriculum institute in 2011 in conjunction with Diversity Council

  3. Pilot a visiting scholars program for underrepresented faculty in spring 2011 in conjunction with Strategic Plan Goal 6 initiatives

  4. Conduct a talent recruitment weekend for underrepresented faculty and staff in spring 2011 In conjunction with Strategic Plan Goal 6 initiatives, Provost, and Office of Affirmative Action
