Child Care Center

Welcome

Indiana State University's Early Childhood Education Center offers children a quality learning environment.  In keeping with the University's College of Education mission, this program provides professional care to children from infancy through age five in diverse, educational experiences. 

The Early Childhood Education Center operates two programs:

Child Care Center (0 to 5 years old) located in Maehling Terrace, University Apartments.

Preschool which has a 1/2 day program for 3 to 5 year olds and is located in Franklin Elementary.

Gail Gottschling directs both programs, and the staff of 28, which includes teachers, aides, office assistants, and a cook.

Mission

The mission of the ISU Early Childhood Education Center is to provide opportunities for teacher training, research and service to persons within the university setting and in the community at large. The ISU Early Childhood Education Center demonstrates quality early childhood education programs for young children and their parents with a commitment to cultural diversity.  Our program is ACCREDITED by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.   The program is affiliated with the ISU College of Education and the department Elementary, Early and Special Education.
