Minor in Economics

 

The Department of Economics offers a minor in economics that requires completion of 18 credit hours of study (six courses) including some required foundation courses.  We encourage students with an interest in economics but pursuing other majors to consult with our academic advisors to design a curriculum in economics that will be best suited to their major field of study.  For an example of such a directed minor program, see the description for the minor in economics designed for students pursuing a major in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Required Courses (9 hours)

ECON 200-Principles of Macroeconomics

ECON 201-Principles of Microeconomics

And one from the following:

ECON 300-lntermediate Macroeconomics

ECON 301-lntermediate Microeconomics

ECON 321-Money and Banking

ECON 341-lnternational Economics

Elective Courses ( 9 hours)

Any of the 300 or 400 level economics courses

* Students pursuing a minor in economics must complete ECON 200 and ECON 201 with a minimum grade of C before enrolling in 300 or 400 level economics courses.
