About Us
Students in the Electronics and Computer Technology
Department prepare for a wide variety of careers. Our graduates are
trained in a solid foundation in electronics and computer hardware,
which provides the basis for developing their skills to use and
manage technology in industry and business.
Students pursue their career objectives through
a major or minor within the various programs offered in the
department. Class sizes are small. Capable faculty guide students in
"hands on" learning in the new John T. Myers Technology Building.
The Faculty offices are located on the third floor, along with most
of the ECT classrooms and labs.
Eight specially designed and well equipped labs
give students the opportunity to build upon their skills and gain
experience with the technologies used in industry and business.
After students master the basics of electronics our programs allow
each student to choose a path toward a degree in one or more
specific areas.
Undergraduates can choose from two majors:
Computer Hardware Technology,
Electronics Technology.
Students can also choose a B.S. degree in
Information Technology which includes course work from our
department, Computer Science, and MIS.
