Program Description:   The summer Kodály training will feature daily activities in each class involving sight-singing, ear training, and introduction to and hands-on experience with a music educational pedagogy developed by the renowned Hungarian composer, educator, and researcher Zoltán Kodály. This project is based on the foundation of a relationship the ISU SoM has developed with the Kodály Institute and its Director, Dr. László Nemes, who recently presented lectures and a workshop on the ISU campus. The course also provides models for the practical use of the Kodály music educational concept and deals with questions of the adaptation of the Hungarian music education practice into different musical environments.
