Elementary, Early and Special Education
DART
This program is designed for students interested in developing an area of concentration in reading education while completing course requirements for professionalization of the Indiana Elementary License. For students who have completed a reading minor, the program will professionalize the minor and apply toward the post-master’s non-degree program as an instructional supervisor in reading. Students seeking to professionalize an Indiana Standard Teaching License (Rules 46-47) must complete all requirements and submit the application for license to the Indiana Professional Standards Board no later than June 30, 2006. Completion of the M.Ed.—Literacy qualifies the student for the Indiana Professional License in Elementary Education provided the student holds the Standard Elementary License and has completed five years teaching experience in accredited elementary schools subsequent to the issuance of the Standard License.
