Be a successful advocate for ISU
- Learn the legislative process and identify the key decision-makers.
- Research the issues.
- Keep it simple. Whether it's a letter, phone call, email or fax, identify your purpose (including a bill number is helpful) and clearly state your position.
- Tell the truth.
- Be considerate and friendly toward the legislator and his staff.
- Stay in touch with the legislator and his staff.
