Indiana State University periodically has opportunities to develop academic on-campus workshops of strategic importance, which are not in lieu of program-related semester/term course offerings. Some of these workshop opportunities provide for the delivery of instruction resulting in the awarding of ISU credit hours. Unlike traditional program-related courses delivered on-campus, many of these workshop opportunities do not require the utilization of services and facilities provided for traditional programming.
In May 2009, the University Board of Trustees authorized that the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice President for Business Affairs, Finance and University Treasurer could determine programs of strategic importance to the University, that are not in lieu of program-related semester/term course offerings. The Board of Trustees also authorized that with the approval of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice President for Business Affairs, Finance and University Treasurer, an alternative credit hour fee for these workshops may be established as deemed warranted. The Board of Trustees further authorized that with the approval of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice President for Business Affairs, Finance, and University Treasurer, on-campus workshop registrants could be exempt from the assessment of mandatory fees such as the Late Registration Fee and Recreation Center Fee.
To request approval for an alternative academic credit hour fee and elimination of select mandatory fees in association with a credit bearing on-campus program, please submit the routing form, program description, and budget to Jill Blunk in Extended Learning, Tirey Hall 134F (x2670). Please note that registration and associated payment for these workshops must be routed through Extended Learning.
