Capital Planning & Improvements
The Planning and
Construction Division of Facilities Management includes all aspects of
construction projects including planning and design of all
architectural, electrical, mechanical and civil
elements. The department consists of a complete in-house engineering
staff of professionals to meet the needs and
goals of our campus community.
The Planning and Construction Division also provides estimates to
departments for any construction work that they would like to have

Facilities Master
Plan
The Facilities Master Plan is the vision for
the campus physical environment. By establishing overall goals, objectives
and design principles to serve as framework for future physical development,
as well as providing long range planning for
architecture, land use, space allocation, landscaping and transportation, the Facilities Master Plan becomes essential for proper
University physical development.
Design & Planning
Any change to the physical environment of
campus buildings and grounds are monitored by the Facilities Management staff. This includes everything from landscaping
to new building construction.
Project Management
Responsible for design phase management
of construction projects throughout the design development phase.
The design development phase is as follows:
- space needs analysis-
- feasibility studies-
- conceptual design-
- program planning-
- architect selection (if applicable)-
- schematic design-
- design development-
- construction management
Accessibility Review
Continual reviews of the University's physical
environment to ensure compliance to the American's With Disabilities Act
(ADA). This includes all existing structures as well
as future construction.
Community Liaison
The office of Planning & Construction
acts as liaison to the city, county, and state planning agencies to maintain effective communication regarding mutual planning
and development issues. Facilities staff also serve
on a variety of campus , university, city and state committees, commissions,
and task forces related to planning, design and
development concerns.
