Faculty Scholarship


The Faculty Scholarship is intended to reward committed and high-achieving students at Indiana State University.

Targeted Population
Full-time undergraduate students at ISU who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

  1. Completed 24 credit hours, but no more than 62 hours (excluding currently enrolled hours)
  2. Completed at least 12 credit hours at ISU
  3. Attained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
  4. Have not previously received, not currently receiving, and do not anticipate receiving full-tuition scholarships from other sources.

Amount and Number of Scholarships
To be determined at time of award.

Administration
A subcommittee of the Student Affairs Committee will be responsible for collecting, evaluating applications, and selecting scholarship recipients.

Application
Each applicant must fill out an online application form. Before completing the application form, each applicant must prepare the following documents and submit them as attachments along with the application form:

  1. Current DARS (Word document)
    In order to prepare a copy of your DARS, follow these steps:
    1. Log on to your Portal account.
    2. Run your DARS report.
    3. Click on "View a Printer Friendly Report" at the top of the report.
    4. Go to the "Edit" menu on the browser toolbar and click on "Select All."
    5. From the "Edit" menu click "Copy."
    6. Paste the text into a Word document.
    7. Save the Word document; use your last name as the filename.

  2. Essay and extracurricular activities statement (Word document)
    1. The essay should be approximately 600 words, typed double-spaced. Discuss your academic interests and goals as well as your future plans.
    2. Following the essay, in the same Word document, include a:


      • Statement describing your extracurricular activities, both on- and off-campus.
      • Include contact information for advisor, supervisor, etc. for each significant activity
      • [Name, Phone Number, Email]
      • Example: RED HEARTS CLUB: group of ISU students who visit nursing homes to visit residents. Member since 2002; average 2 visits a month; I am in charge of planning the schedule for Spring 2005. Group Advisor: Mary Mary, Vigo County Nursing Home Association. Phone: 555-2277; Email: marymary@mary.com.

Each applicant must also provide two letters of recommendation from faculty.

The letters, in paper copy, should be sent to:
