The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is housed in the Family and Consumer Sciences Building, a contemporary structure
remodeled in 1988 to meet the current and future needs of the department's programs. The building contains classrooms, laboratories, studios, and student computer facilities.
Members of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences share their professional expertise with the larger community of Terre Haute by providing
consultant and educational services. Graduate faculty are involved with statewide educational grants/projects and research activities. Field experiences in several family and consumer sciences areas are available in
Terre Haute and surrounding areas. Additionally, each summer, graduate credit in family and consumer sciences may be earned through the department's International Travel-Study Program. Each summer off-campus classes
are offered to meet the needs of students who are unable to attend classes on the ISU campus in Terre Haute.
