Family and Consumer Sciences

 

Working with families and children offers both challenges and chances of truly making a difference in this world.  The obstacles of everyday life are so formidable that many person require assistance from qualified professionals.  Those who possess that expertise can expect to help persons in need to attain a higher degree of life fulfillment – which is quite satisfying.

Working with families and children is a complex and multifaceted job which offers both challenges and the opportunity to truly make a difference in the world.  As a qualified professional, the Child Development and Family Life graduate offers assistance to families in overcoming the obstacles of everyday life. 

Career Opportunities:  Adolescent Service specialist, After-school program director, camp director, child advocate, child psychologist, childlife therapist, child welfare professional, counseling therapist, day-care center director, day-care teacher, elementary teacher, family life educator, family preservation specialist, human relations specialist, marriage and family counselor, preschool director, psychiatric assistant, program director, recreational specialist, social welfare worker, teen parent educator, youth program director, youth service worker, university extension educator.
