Family and Consumer Sciences

Student Organization

INDIANA ASSOCIATION OF FAMILY AND CONSUMERS SCIENCES (INAFCS), student member section at ISU offers many opportunities to develop leadership skills, make career-enhancing contacts, helps in career exploration, and instigates social activities which builds friendships. Indiana state undergraduate and graduate students regularly serve in state, district and national leadership positions.

PHI UPSILON OMICRON (PHI U), a professional honorary society, is centered around Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. It is open to those sophomores with at least a 3.00 GPA and a willingness to serve. Recently an ISU member was the recipient of a National Phi U scholarship, and the National Professional Project Award was given to the local chapter during the year.

AMERICAN SOCIETY OF INTERIOR DESIGNERS (ASID), student member section provides professional growth opportunities by arranging meetings with practicing interior designers, sponsoring professional activities, and offering networking possibilities.

FOOD AND NUTRITION CLUB (FAN), student member section provides professional growth opportunities by arranging speaking engagements with area practicing dietitians and other food and nutrition  professionals, fund raising to provide student financial support of professional activities.
