Lynn Duerr

Degrees: Ph.D., R.D.,
C.D.,Received a B.S. and M.A. in Nutrition and Dietetics from Kent State
University, and a Ph.D. in Secondary Education (emphasis on Post Secondary) from
the University of Akron.
Expertise and Activity Statement :
Dr.Duerr is a Registered Dietitian with
extensive work in food service management at varied positions and types of
organizations. Dr. Duerr’s emphasis on the PhD degree was adult learners and
nutrition. Dr. Duerr has published two articles older adults and nutrition. Dr.
Duerr received a Gerontology Certificate from the University of Akron. Her
academic employment, prior to coming to Indiana State University, was at The
University of Akron, Cuyahoga Community College, and Kent State University as
Part Time Lecturer ,Clinical Instructor, and fundamentals of nutrition classes,
and the food production and nutritional assessment practicum’s. Dr. Duerr
maintains memberships in the American, Indiana (on Board of Directors), and
local (Treasurer) Dietetics Associations; the Ohio Association of Gerontology
and Education (OAGE); ADA Practice Groups –Dietetic Educators of Practitioners,
Gerontological Nutritionists, and Management Responsibilities in Health Care
Delivery Systems, Indiana Association of Family and Consumer Sciences; and
several Indiana State University committees (University, college, and
Departmental.
