Department of Family & Consumer Sciences

 

Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is to prepare men and women of critical thinking and problem solving in professional careers influencing the psychosocial, physical and economic well-being of individuals and families in a changing global community.

Accreditation Information

All undergraduate programs in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences are accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.

In addition:
The Coordinated Program in Dietetics is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetic Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association.

The Family and Consumer Sciences Education program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.

The Interior Design program is accredited by the Foundation of Interior Design Education Research (FIDER), National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and endorsed  by the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
