Teaching Large Classes Teaching Circle

Do you teach a large class? Are you searching for better ways to meet students' needs in this setting?  This learning community will continue to meet throughout the academic year to discuss best practices and pedagogical strategies, successes, and challenges of teaching in this environment. Contact the FCTE for more information.

Multicultural Curriculum Transformation Learning Community

This learning community is designed to help faculty vision and integrate content and assignments that are linked to diversity or inclusive excellence. We anticipate that a future learning community will be formed in the near future.

Vitality - Vision. Vigor. Vibrancy.

The VITALITY initiative is a mid-career, self-renewal program. The purpose is to provide the opportunity for associate professors to engage in professional growth and self-renewal as they pursue vision, vigor, and vibrancy along the mid-career path.

The VITALITY initiative is open to associate professors at ISU who are on campus.

Instructional Designer/Blackboard/Assessment Consultations

There will be regular office hours held in the FCTE by Instructional Designers, a Blackboad Faculty Fellow, and Assessment Coordinator. Instructional Designers can offer assistance in the design and maintenance of traditional (face-to-face) and online courses. They can help create meaningful, interactive courses that engage students in course content. They will be available for drop-in assistance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10-11 a.m.

The Blackboard Consultant will assist with the integration of Blackboard features and the development of purposeful assessments. She will be available for drop-in assistance on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. The Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence is located in Cunningham Memorial Library on the first floor next to the Cup and Chaucer Coffee Shop.
