Verification Requirements


 

Students who are selected for verification must provide documentation supporting the information given on their FAFSA. The financial aid counselors review your documents and correct any errors found. We then award your financial aid after receiving a new calculation of eligibility back from the government.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR VERIFICATION

 

   Dependent Students and their Parents:

·        Federal Tax forms for the student and parent(s) (1040, 1040 A, 1040 EZ, IRS Form 2555, etc. - Schedules are only needed if specifically requested.)

·         Dependent Verification Worksheet

    Independent Students (and, spouse, if married) 

·         Federal Tax forms for the student and spouse if married (1040, 1040 A, 1040 EZ, IRS Form 2555, etc. - Schedules are only needed if specifically requested.)

·         Independent Verification Worksheet

   All Students selected for Verification

If requested, the following documents or verification of income/expenses must also be provided: 

·         Proof of child support received or paid

·         Proof of untaxed pensions, IRA/Keogh, or 401(k) plans

·         Proof of retirement or disability benefits

·         AFDC, ADC, or other welfare benefits

·         Workers' compensation received

·       Social Security 1099 or a Social Security letter showing income received.

·         Veteran's Non-educational benefits (Death Pension or DIC)

·     Affidavit (for Independent student or parent of dependent student)

·        Federal Tax return schedules or W2 forms

·   Other documentation necessary to substantiate the accuracy of the information provided on your application.
